FATS DOMINO - The Big Beat

The Early Hits Of Fats Domino

The most popular exponent of classic New Orleans R&B. Fats sold more records than any other black Rock ‘n’ Roll star of the 50s. His first single, ‘The Fat Man’ is a candidate for the first R’n’R record. #2 on the U.S. R&B charts it sold a million copies. He crossed over into the pop charts in a big way with ‘Ain’t That a Shame’ in 1955 a Top 10 hit. Pat Boone’s cover went to No.1. ‘Blueberry Hill’ (his best-known) single, ‘I’m Walking’, ‘Blue Monday’ & ‘I’m in Love Again’ were also huge successes
